Get ready for the school holidays with these awesome camps!
This coming December school holidays, join us for a fun-filled week. This 21st-century themed camp brings students aged 8 – 16 opportunities to pick up useful skillsets to prepare them for the future. This time, we have included VR Technology using Oculus for students to get inspired and excited. Students can choose between 3-day camps or one-day workshops and try out a multitude of different age-appropriate workshops per day from drone flying, 3D printing, to VR and exploring circuits and coding – all in 3 days!
Digital Story-Telling and Animation
In this course, we use Tynker to help students explore the art of story-telling and animations. Through various games, challenges and exercises, we will introduce the students to tools that can help unscrew the cork to their pent-up creativity and be inspired by the power of their own imagination.
Exploring Circuits and Coding Level 1
Students will understand the field of electrical engineering and learn about the role of an electrical engineer. Basic electrical concepts such as voltage, current and different types of circuits will be introduced and create projects that they can bring home!
Exploring Circuits and Coding Level 2
Students will move on to using a breadboard and be given different electrical components such as LED lights, resistors, servo motors to allow them to use their imagination and creativity to create their own projects.
Drone Flying through CodingLevel 1
In this workshop, students will explore the role as an aerodynamics engineer. Students will act as secret agents and fly around the world to take special photos of iconic buildings for their missions through basic concepts of aerodynamic and drone flying. For students who have attended our first course, they will move on to use complex math concepts, students will learn how to map and plot the most efficient route to fly their drone to complete challenges. This workshop challenges a student’s ability to think computationally and instills creativity and imagination.
3D Printing and ModellingLevel 1
This is a 3 hours exploratory course on 3D printing. It will be a fun-filled hands-on project, whereby students get to explore the world of technology focused on 3D printing. Topics include the concept of 3d printing, how to operate a 3d printer, design your own model for 3d printing. For students who have attended first course, students will build on their skills in Level 1 and learn more in-depth modeling. Project work requires them to create complex modeling using CAD. thereby increasing their level of 3D visualization skills. At the end of the day, each student will be rewarded with their own 3D printed and designed model to take home.
Introduction to VR with Oculus and CospacesLevel 1
This is a 3 hours introduction course to Virtual Reality technology. Students will be given the opportunity to jump into the world of VR. With the Oculus Go and Cospaces, students create worlds that they can see, hear and be immersed themselves in. They will be using basic programming concepts learnt in this course to create game interactive simulations and visualization.
