General

The most common questions from parents new to The Lab.

The Lab is Singapore's first coding school to formalise a Computational Thinking curriculum for children aged 5 and above. Unlike most enrichment centres, we have clear learning objectives, structured assessments, and a progressive pathway — from block coding to Python, AI, and game development — so your child never plateaus.
Yes. Our students have won multiple national and regional competitions since 2018 across robotics, coding, and AI challenges. The curriculum is built around the real skills these competitions test — not just surface-level familiarity with tools.
Each student is assessed through our proprietary platform, which tracks progress in real-time. Facilitators monitor pace and flag areas that need more attention, so every child advances at the right speed rather than the class average.
We keep class sizes intentionally small so every facilitator can give meaningful attention to each student. This is central to why our students make consistent, measurable progress each term.

Programs & Curriculum

What your child will actually learn and build at The Lab.

Scratch is great for creative storytelling but stays within its own sandbox. Our Google Blockly translates directly into real programming languages — Python, JavaScript, PHP — so the concepts your child learns carry forward into professional coding.
Not at all. Our Kinder and Junior programmes are designed for complete beginners. The free trial class is the best way to find the right starting level for your child.
Depending on the programme: working robots, Python applications, AI models, or Unity 3D games. Every term ends with a real project your child built themselves — and can show off.
Popular Yes. We offer a dedicated DSA Supplement Programme for students applying to secondary schools via the Direct Schools Admission exercise. Contact us for current availability and scheduling.

Age Groups

Matching your child to the right programme level.

Children aged 5–6 join our Kinder Programme. Inspired by Singapore's Learning Goals for preschoolers, we blend tech fun with early childhood learning — no prior experience needed.
Children aged 7–9 join our Junior Programme, which introduces LEGO Robotics and AI concepts in a hands-on, play-based format inspired by the MOE Primary syllabus.
Ages 10–14 join our Coder Programme which moves into Python and real computational thinking. Prior Scratch experience is a great foundation. Our trial class assessment will confirm the best entry point.
The Lab X is our advanced track for teens ready to go deeper — Unity game development, competitive programming, AI projects, and more. It’s where serious young coders level up.

Not sure which level fits? Our trial class will assess your child and recommend the right programme.

Holiday Camps

Short intensive programmes during school holidays.

No — holiday camps are open to all children in the appropriate age range, with no obligation to enrol in regular classes afterwards. They’re a great way to try The Lab for the first time.
Most camps run across 2–3 days with half-day or full-day options. Check the Holiday Programs page for the current schedule and to secure a spot — they fill up quickly.
Topics vary each holiday season and are matched to the age group. Common themes include Robotics, Python, AI, and Game Development. Each camp ends with a mini-project showcase.
