The LEGO AI Builder Challenge 2026 is Singapore’s newest Artificial Intelligence (AI) competition for children, organised by The Lab Singapore. Designed for young innovators aged 4–12, this unique event introduces children to the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence (AI), engineering, robotics and creative problem-solving through hands-on building using the LEGO® Education Computer Science & AI Kit.
Unlike traditional robotics competitions, participants will not be following step-by-step instructions or copying existing LEGO models. Instead, every child has just one hour to imagine, design and build a completely original AI-inspired invention from scratch.
Artificial Intelligence is one of the fastest-growing technologies shaping the future. The LEGO AI Builder Challenge allows children to discover AI concepts through creative engineering rather than screen time. Participants explore how sensors, motors, controllers and intelligent systems work together while building with the LEGO® Education Computer Science & AI Kit.This competition develops creativity, computational thinking, engineering design, spatial reasoning and AI literacy—all while having fun. It is an ideal introduction to Artificial Intelligence for young learners.
