LEGO Robotics & AI for Kids: Introducing LEGO League 2027

🤖 THE NEXT GENERATION OF LEGO ROBOTICS IS HERE!

Exciting news for our The Lab robotics students and parents!

LEGO Education has announced a major update to its global robotics competition programme, with a new LEGO League launching from August 2027.

What makes this especially exciting is the introduction of the LEGO Education Computer Science & AI Robot — bringing together LEGO robotics, computer science, coding and artificial intelligence in one learning experience.

🤖 More Than Just Building LEGO Robots

The new direction is not simply about building a robot and making it move.

Students will learn to:

• Build and engineer LEGO robots
• Program robots to complete challenges
• Develop computational thinking and problem-solving skills
• Understand computer science concepts
• Work with sensors, variables and data
• Explore artificial intelligence and how AI can be incorporated into robotics
• Design, test, troubleshoot and improve their solutions
• Work collaboratively as a team

This is exactly the kind of hands-on STEM education that we believe in at The Lab.

🧠 LEGO + COMPUTER SCIENCE + AI

As AI becomes an increasingly important part of the world our children are growing up in, we believe children should not simply learn how to use AI.

They should understand how technology works, how computers solve problems, and how AI can be used to create solutions.

The new LEGO Education Computer Science & AI direction is an exciting step towards bringing these concepts together through hands-on LEGO robotics and coding.

🏆 WHAT ABOUT LEGO ROBOTICS COMPETITIONS?

The new LEGO League will build on the tradition of international LEGO robotics competitions, combining:

🤖 Robot Design & Engineering
💻 Coding & Computer Science
🧠 AI & Problem Solving
🌍 Real-World STEM Projects
👥 Teamwork & Collaboration
🏆 Competitive Robotics Challenges

The first new LEGO League season is expected to begin in August 2027, following the final FIRST® LEGO® League season in 2026–2027.

🚀 WHAT THIS MEANS FOR THE LAB

At The Lab, we are particularly excited because robotics, coding, computer science and AI are already central to what we do.

We will be closely following the development of the new LEGO Education Computer Science & AI Robot and LEGO League programme and will share more information with our students and parents as the 2027 season approaches.

For children interested in LEGO robotics, coding, AI and computer science in Singapore, this is definitely something to watch.

The future of robotics is not just about building robots.

It is about understanding the technology behind them — and learning how to create with it.
